According to a list published by the company on Friday, Microsoft has come up with new plans in which users will have the opportunity to switch ‘off’ Internet Explorer 8. It is told that Windows Media Player is also amongst the others that include the list.

The new slim coming to the market is Asus newest Eee PC 1008HA, also known as Shell. Though little about the specs is known till now, yet the web is abounding with its pictures.

It is said to be a ‘follow up on the S101’, yet it is not a thinner laptop comparing to MacBook Air. The price tag it will be wearing is considered to be lower than Apple’s next slim model, yet to be launched. This laptop has got the conventional looks of the netbook but with a changed outlook.

The body is however giving graceful and elegant looks with its pearl shine plastic body designed in soft curves, is called “pearlescent” by Asus. It’s a bit shinier than the previous average Eee PCs.

A multi touch track pad is known to embed in the laptop. The Eee PC 1008HA is only 1-inch thick and weighs just about 2.4 pounds. It is integrated with Wi-Fi, 802.11n Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel webcam, and 3G. There WiMAX options can be found, and packing, with Eee Sharing and Eee Arena software in it which will allow users to synchronize with the rest of the Eee machines available in the market.

While complete specs are in a hide till now, it’s been speculated that the laptop will provide the user to enjoy a large storage area, will have Intel Atom processor and Windows as its operating system.

Recession Hitting Mobile Entertainment

Juniper Research has shown concern in a report that growth mobile entertainment market will be slowed down if the world over economical recession continues to hit. The report states that the average growth per year in the next 2 years will dash down from 19 percent to 7 percent; 19 percent in the best and 7 in the worst conditions.

The most optimistic forecasts about the mobile entertainment market quoted £25 billion economical growth in 2010, which will be a lot lower if the current economical conditions prevail. The main cause of the drop is thought to be the less interest of people to spend on luxurious.

However, other factors have also been mentioned in the report, such as funds lacking to finance the faster migration to ad funded services and new applications development.

Dr Windsor Holden, report author said, some entertainment services appear to be yielding to a great extent towards economical crunch. Also, with the thought of consumers being increasingly reluctant or unable to purchase content, may be operators will not be in favor of providing expensive, and higher risk services like a dedicated mobile broadcast TV network.

It is also thought by Juniper experts that all the sectors will not be affected as such, like mobile gaming.
