Lightweight Software For CD TO MP3 Ripping

Posted in: Software |

GoGo Screenshot Ripping music CD’s to MP3 files has never been easier than with the GoGo CD To MP3 Ripper.  This application has one thing in mind and that is to take an audio CD and rip all the tracks to MP3 files on a local hard drive.

This software works flawlessly.  Simply insert a CD into any optical drive, select an output folder then click “Start Extract.”  You can also select a bit rate from 8 to 320.  As a bonus, this tool also includes a wav to mp3 and mp3 to wav converter.

GoGo CD To MP3 Ripper is under 2 MB, is completely free and can be downloaded through this link here.

Spore PC Game

Posted in: Gaming, Software |

Spore is the newest creation from the brilliant designer, developer and programmer Will Wright.  Wright is most famously known for creating the best selling PC game of all time called The Sims.

Spore took many years to develop and was highly anticipated and expected to be one of the greatest games to date.  There has been many reviews of this game spread all over the web in the last month since the game was released.  They range the spectrum from fantastic, to average, to awful.

While I certainly wasn’t a fan of The Sims, I thought I would give this game a try, since there was so much talk about it over the last few years.  For me, I would rate the game as two thumbs down.  It is so clear that this game is Sims-like, it was a complete turn off.

A quick summary of Spore is you start the game in a molecule type state.  Basically you look like a fish.  You must evolve by eating meat or plants (you decide) and growing to eventually becoming a creature.  This process is extremely long, boring and tedious.  You can tailor your creature, just as in The Sims, with certain body parts, weapons and colors.  Interacting with other creatures ultimately determine many factors in the game.

That was a quick summary with not many details, and not an enthusiastic one at that, but I felt the need to get the Spore game out of my head and not think about it again.  Gamers the age of 15 and below might find Spore entertaining, but for most of us, it’s a pure drag.
