New LifeCam Webcam Software Is Impressive
A few weeks ago Microsoft released a completely re-designed software package for their VX series Webcams. The latest version of the LifeCam suite is 2.04 and can be downloaded here.
Previous users of the older LifeCam software will immediately notice a difference. The user interface is much cleaner with well laid out buttons. The dashboard with the options for the webcam is now a fly-out screen with a complete overhaul of the look and feel.
Along with the clean and bold graphics, Microsoft added a new effects category that actually changes how the image is perceived. Over 40 different visual effects were included like Alien Head, Big Eyes, Large Mouth, Square Head and Mirror. You can also add things to the video image in real-time like hairstyles, hats and glasses.
This is an excellent software package Microsoft has released for their inexpensive webcam line. I give the LifeCam software an A+ for design, functionality and features.

i got 2.04 and the progress bar does an endless loop and the installation never finishes

Install IIS from Add and remove windows programs and reinstall software. Worked for me
